Zuckerberg sat next to the president, while Gates sat next to first lady\u00a0Melania Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s an honor to be here with this group of people, they&#8217;re leading a revolution in business and in genius and in every other word I think you could imagine,&#8221; Trump said in kicking off the event in the White House State Dining Room.<\/p>\n<p>Melania Trump\u00a0hosted a White House event focused on AI earlier in the day that was attended by Altman and Pichai.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The robots are here. He appointed venture capitalist David Sacks as the White House AI and crypto czar.<\/p>\n<p>Sacks outlined the Trump administration&#8217;s efforts to ensure the U.S. &#8220;dominates&#8221; in AI and thanked tech leaders attending the earlier AI event for &#8220;putting America first.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump has implemented an aggressive tariff program and pushed companies to shift manufacturing to the United States, prompting many to announce new U.S. investments. Cook was invited to a Sept. 4 White House dinner for Tech leaders in the Rose Garden.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s AI plan, which includes some 90 recommendations, calls for the export of U.S. AI software and hardware abroad as well as a crackdown on state laws deemed too restrictive to let it flourish, a marked departure from\u00a0Biden&#8217;s &#8220;high fence&#8221; approach that limited global access to coveted AI chips.<\/p>\n<p>Meta, Google, Microsoft, Apple, and OpenAI are all big players in the AI market. Zuckerberg, Pichai, Cook, and Altman all\u00a0attended Trump&#8217;s inauguration.<\/p>\n<p>Musk also attended the inauguration and led Trump&#8217;s Department of Government Efficiency in an effort to overhaul the federal government, but has\u00a0feuded with the president\u00a0since leaving the White House.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong>Trump&#8217;s second term:\u00a0<\/strong>Elon Musk announces new &#8216;America&#8217; party after slamming Trump&#8217;s megabill<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0world&#8217;s richest man, Musk is among the tech world&#8217;s most prominent figures and has been critical of others in the industry.
