These first drafts honoring America\u2019s 250th Birthday and\u00a0@POTUS\u00a0are real,\u201d\u00a0Beach said in his post on X. \u201cLooking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Beach did not respond to a USA TODAY\u00a0request for comment via X\u00a0on whether the coin might violate a federal law that\u00a0prohibits any living person\u00a0from being on U.S. currency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Despite the radical left&#8217;s forced shutdown of our government, the facts are clear: Under the historic leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our nation is entering its\u00a0250th anniversary\u00a0stronger, more prosperous, and better than ever,&#8221; the Treasury Department told USA TODAY in a statement. &#8220;While a final $1 dollar coin design has not yet been selected to commemorate the United States&#8217; semiquincentennial, this first draft reflects well the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of immense obstacles.
