President Donald Trump warned that any protests during this weekend’s major military parade in Washington will be met with \u201cvery heavy force.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf there’s any protester who wants to come out, they will be met with very big force,\u201d the president said Tuesday during an impromptu Oval Office press conference. \u201cI haven’t even heard about a protest, but [there are] people that hate our country.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s threat came as thousands of National Guard troops and about 700 marines are in Los Angeles, clashing with protesters of the president\u2019s immigration agenda. Trump claimed Tuesday without evidence the demonstrators were \u201cpaid insurrectionists\u201d and said the city would have experienced \u201ca lot of death and destruction\u201d if he had not sent in the Guard.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we didn’t attack this one very strongly, you\u2019d have them all over the country,\u201d Trump said of the Los Angeles protests. \u201cBut I can inform the rest of the country that when they do it \u2014 if they do it \u2014 they’re gonna be met with equal or greater force.\u201d<\/p>\n
