President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0on Thursday may have given Democrats some fresh material to work into their campaign ads during next year\u2019s midterm elections.<\/p>\n

While many analysts believe\u00a0rising prices\u00a0played a big part in the\u00a0overwhelming Democratic victories\u00a0during this week\u2019s elections, the president urged people to stop talking about it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to hear about the affordability, because right now, we\u2019re much less,\u201d he said as he touted a Walmart\u00a0Thanksgiving dinner package that costs 25% less than last year\u2019s version.<\/p>\n

That meal, however,\u00a0contains fewer items\u00a0than last year\u2019s bundle and includes more generic items instead of national brands.<\/p>\n

And overall, despite Trump\u2019s claims,\u00a0seven in 10 Americans say in a new poll that they pay more for groceries now\u00a0than they did a year ago.<\/p>\n

Ironically, just one day earlier, Trump had a completely different take on affordability as he urged Republicans to mention it more often.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have this new word called \u2018affordability,\u2019\u201d\u00a0Trump said during a Fox News interview. \u201cAnd they don\u2019t talk about it enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, however, he said he doesn\u2019t want to hear about it.<\/p>\n

Critics called out the president for ignoring what remains a significant problem for millions of Americans.<\/p>\n
