President Donald Trump told CNN Friday morning that Cuba \u201cis going to fall pretty soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCuba is gonna fall pretty soon, by the way, unrelated, but Cuba is gonna fall too. They want to make a deal so badly,\u201d he told CNN\u2019s Dana Bash in a phone interview when touting US military success in his second term.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want to make a deal, and so I\u2019m going to put Marco (Rubio) over there and we\u2019ll see how that works out. We\u2019re really focused on this one right now. We\u2019ve got plenty of time, but Cuba\u2019s ready \u2014 after 50 years,\u201d he added, explaining that Iran is the current priority.<\/p>\n
He added of Cuba: \u201cI\u2019ve been watching it for 50 years, and it\u2019s fallen right into my lap because of me, it\u2019s fallen, but it\u2019s nevertheless fallen right into the lap. And we\u2019re doing very well.\u201d<\/p>\n
A day earlier, Trump said at the White House that it\u2019s only a \u201cquestion of time\u201d before American Cubans can return to their home country, appearing to say that\u2019s next on the administration\u2019s agenda after the ongoing war with Iran.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s doing some job, and your next one is going to be, we want to do that special Cuba,\u201d Trump said Thursday referring to his Secretary of State. \u201cHe\u2019s waiting. But he says, \u2018Let\u2019s get this one finished first.\u2019 We could do them all at the same time, but bad things happen. If you watch countries over the years, you do them all too fast, bad things happen. We\u2019re not going to let anything bad happen to this country.\u201d<\/p>\n
