{"id":3082,"date":"2026-04-27T08:44:43","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T08:44:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.cedritech.com\/?p=3082"},"modified":"2026-04-27T08:44:43","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T08:44:43","slug":"north-dakota-state-lawmaker-dies-in-minnesota-plane-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cedritech.com\/?p=3082","title":{"rendered":"North Dakota state lawmaker dies in Minnesota plane crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><span class=\"story_dl\">April 26 (UPI) &#8212;<\/span>\u00a0A small plane crashed in the Minneapolis suburb of Brooklyn Park over the weekend, killing two people, including a state legislator from North Dakota, federal and local officials said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Beechcraft BE33 with two people aboard crashed in a residential field shortly after takeoff from Crystal Airport in Minnesota around noon CDT Saturday, according to\u00a0a statement\u00a0from the Federal Aviation Administration, which said it and the National Transportation Safety Board were investigating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Police responded to a report of the crash at Brooklyn Park near the airport at 11:51 a.m., with officers and firefighters arriving at the scene to find a small aircraft on fire, which responders extinguished.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Unfortunately, everybody on the plane perished,&#8221; Matt Rabe of the Brooklyn Park Police Department said during\u00a0a press conference.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The North Dakota Democratic-Nonpartisan League Party confirmed online that state Rep. Liz Conmy of Fargo was among those killed in the crash.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;We are completely heartbroken and gutted by the loss of Representative Liz Conmy,&#8221; the Democratic Party affiliate said in\u00a0a statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Her death is a profound loss for our state. As a lawmaker, she championed public education, the environment and transparency. Liz had a natural ability to make friendships across the political spectrum. We send our deepest condolences to her children, family and friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">We are completely heartbroken and gutted by the loss of Representative Liz Conmy.
