I mean do I have to list what\u2019s happening there?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Amanpour also bemoaned what she called the \u201cideological realignment of CBS and the destruction potentially of\u00a0\u201960 Minutes.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"max-md:faux-bleed mb-4 bg-accent\/2 pb-5 md:invisible md:mb-0 md:h-0 md:overflow-hidden md:pb-0\">\n<div class=\"py-2 text-center text-xs uppercase\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-nowrap justify-center\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The journalist\u2019s comments were first\u00a0highlighted by Mediaite.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mb-4\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Paramount Skydance is seeking to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns CNN, a network President Trump has sparred with for years. He said in recent months that he wishes to see the network operate under new ownership.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The president on Wednesday marked the death of CNN founder Ted Turner by saying the news outlet he founded has been \u201cdestroyed\u201d by what Trump called the channel\u2019s \u201cwoke\u201d coverage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">David Ellison, a media mogul that is seen as an ally of the president, has retooled CBS News in recent months to cater to what he has called a more \u201cdiverse\u201d audience, a move seen by many as a rightward shift at the network.<\/p>\n<div class=\"max-md:faux-bleed mb-4 bg-accent\/2 pb-5 md:invisible md:mb-0 md:h-0 md:overflow-hidden md:pb-0\">\n<div class=\"py-2 text-center text-xs uppercase\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-nowrap justify-center\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cI would to think we would have the very basic which is editorial independence,\u201d Amanpour said. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think I need to say more about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><i>Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
