{"id":3755,"date":"2026-08-26T12:01:04","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T12:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.cedritech.com\/?p=3755"},"modified":"2026-08-26T12:01:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T12:01:04","slug":"americans-reported-among-hundreds-missing-in-nepal-floods-tourism-board-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.cedritech.com\/?p=3755","title":{"rendered":"Americans reported among hundreds missing in Nepal floods, tourism board says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">At least three American tourists were reported among a &#8220;preliminary&#8221; toll of 384 missing people following serious flash flooding in Nepal, according to a statement posted to X by the Nepal Tourism Board.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The flooding occurred in the northern Rasuwa district, along the border with Tibet, at around 8:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The preliminary toll of the missing included 291 foreign nationals and 93 Nepali nationals, the Tourism Board said in its statement.<\/p>\n<div class=\"max-md:faux-bleed mb-4 bg-accent\/2 pb-5 md:invisible md:mb-0 md:h-0 md:overflow-hidden md:pb-0\">\n<div class=\"py-2 text-center text-xs uppercase\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"flex w-full flex-nowrap justify-center\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The three Americans were listed as traveling with a Nepali company called Fishtail Tours and Travel. The army urged people to adopt high vigilance and stay in safe places.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mb-4\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The flood reportedly inflicted casualties on the Chinese side of the border, at the Gyirong border crossing, according to the Chinese state-run Xinhua News Agency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">President Xi Jinping, the agency reported, ordered search and rescue efforts for those reported missing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><em>This is a developing story.
