I&#8217;ve lived here for 20+ years, and usually we get like 1- to 2-foot waves. But when we get the storm to come in here, it&#8217;s like, crazy. We&#8217;re just not used to that,&#8221; Seal Beach resident Clifford Scarborough said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Crews responded by constructing a berm and pumping seawater back toward the ocean. The National Weather Service said rainfall totals across Los Angeles County were generally between 0.10 and 0.33 inches Sunday morning, with some locations topping 0.50 inches.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">But the soggy conditions won&#8217;t last.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As Marie&#8217;s moisture pulls away, Southern California is expected to quickly transition from rain and cooler temperatures to a significant warming trend.
